Information for Prospective Members

What is the club about

It was founded in 1993 aiming to promote caravanning as a safe and rewarding recreational activity and to foster lasting friendships through participation in social activities.

 What do they do?

Hold monthly meetings, provide a varied list of social events including picnics and club lunches and have group caravan trips, both touring and at single locations.

How big is the club?

Membership is limited to 65 vans, i.e. about 130 members.

Who can apply to join the club?

Permanent residents of Gosford or Wyong Council areas who own a registered caravan, camper van, camper trailer or motor home, and have enough time to attend at least 2 organised trips per year plus meetings.

What do I have to do to join?

Apply to the club, and if the membership is currently full you will be placed on a waiting list until there is a vacancy.  You will then be invited to attend a meeting and will be required to attend 3 meetings and 2 club organised trips within 6 months to gain membership.

How much will membership cost?

$30 joining fee plus an annual fee set each year. It is currently $20. For this you will receive 2 van stickers and 2 name badges and a Club flag.

What about meetings?

They are held at the East Gosford Progress Hall on the 3rd Sunday of each month except December.  They could be classed as social events as the doors open at 11 am, people usually bring a packed lunch, a coffee mug and a small plate of food for afternoon tea and chat until the meeting starts at 1pm. Tea and coffee is provided, as well as the monthly magazine.  Each month a raffle is held with a prize to the value of $20.. The prizes are donated by members in turn as listed in the newsletter.

What about trips?

At each meeting various members put details of proposed trips on the notice board.  You can add your name to the list if you wish to attend, but should also let the leader of that particular trip know if you wish to cancel your booking.  Trips vary greatly in the number attending, the locations, whether touring or at one park, and the duration from a weekend to months, but more commonly about 1 week.
